Persepolis, the animated adaptation of Marjane Satrapi's acclaimed graphic novel, remains a timeless exploration of identity, resilience and freedom.
Following the director's coming-of-age during the Iranian Revolution, the story offers a deeply personal yet universal tale of a young girl finding her way amid political turmoil, cultural conflict and personal growth. The powerful black-and-white images poignantly capture the duality of hope and despair in a world of rapidly changing realities.
