Sinister crime thriller inspired by the Dutroux case.
In the mid-1990s, the Belgian gendarmerie secretly leads a three-man operation to track down two missing girls. The manhunt for the prime suspect and his gang eats away at the soul and personal life of Paul Chartier, a newly minted police officer with a baby face, a short fuse and a troubled past. With Maldoror, schenkopper Fabrice Du Welz did not create a sensationalist key novel around the Dutroux case, but a sinister crime thriller in its own right.
