Machinergy

On a long, yellow conveyor belt, two performers balance between human and machine. Their movements shift from mechanical and repetitive to soft and human. In this hypnotic waltz of two elements, the dancers reveal the synergy that emerges through collaboration while exploring the nature of dependence.

About Machinergy

Choreographer Kelly Vanneste gives a voice to her generation. In a world where technology increasingly isolates us, Tilburg-based dance company Alienated poses an urgent question: how do we stay connected to others? Machinergy highlights the importance of cooperation and trust, showing that despite our desire for independence, we ultimately need one another. How do we balance autonomy and collectivity?

Machinergy is a dance duet filled with friction and collaboration, where the performers explore, challenge, and push each other toward new possibilities. A performance that makes you feel the essential nature of connection. Come and experience this physical exploration of connection and autonomy!

About Alienated

Alienated, founded by Kelly Vanneste and now co-led by Martijn Schipper, embodies the theme of alienation. By integrating dance with objects and circus techniques such as acrobatics, they challenge the body’s physical limits. Their work offers a fresh perspective on the body and its capabilities. Previous productions include disCART, a duet featuring a shopping cart, and Carry My Segment, which explored the boundary between human and object.
